Football in the Rain

It's raining, very, very steady downpour. Today is the huge game, Clemson vs. Carolina. We, well were Gamecocks not those nasty Tigers. The rain started last night, which means this game is going to be a mudbath!! We are going to the Moore's to watch the game with 70 of our closest friends in Milton's "Man Cave". The Man Cave is a four car utility building. There's a huge boat in one part, Jean's antiques (staged for the different booths) in one part, and a little kitchen and bathroom and huge gathering area in the other two parts. He's got two huge screen tvs ready to go for today.
Yesterday Lili and I hit the mall. Not at the insane hour it opened, we did it at our idea of morning. Needless to say not one Christmas present was bought, just stuff she "needed" and a little purple top for me. I tried on some "party" clothes, but alas, nothing would zip, lots of defective zippers, none of which would go over my bulges, and I refuse to go to a larger size!! So, no party clothes for me. Did discover one of my idols, Kristin Davis has a clothing line now!! Nice classic styles, but the dresses all had a weird gather in the back that made an average size adult butt look huge!! She even has jewelry which were all nice pieces too! When my weight is better, I might check back with her stuff!! Did ya'll know Kristin is from SC?? Actually, she went to school in Columbia and I think her Mom lives in Winnsboro now. She comes home a lot, might see her at the airport one day!!
My man and dog are both snoring while I sit here in bed surfing, see ya'll. Go Carolina!!

Black Friday

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. We did, well everybody else did, me I had Jenny Craig and a silver dollar size piece of turkey and a teaspoon of peas. No wine, no dessert, which was maaaarvelous pumpkin cheesecake with cinnamon homemade whip cream (Marlene's contribution). We enjoyed Marlene and George and baby George Henry. Now, Lili and I are off to contribute some money to the economy and the bail out budgets (what a farce those are turning out to be!) I'll blog about our purchases tomorrow.

Friday

Friday, must mean last day to work on crafts for show tomorrow at Westminister Presbyterian. Are we ready, no. Have a found a product I want to try with quilts, thereby throwing the whole schedule off for tomorrow, yes. Everybody is talking about Elmer's Glue Gel and using it like a batik style. I can't wait to use it!! Is it new, I don't know, but it's new to me. I'm trying to figure out how I can go now to walmart at 7:00 in the a.m. buy it, come back home and be with husband like normal in the a.m. (coffee and chat) before he leaves for work!! I want it real bad!!! Ok, I have a craft show tomorrow, I'm not ready for - I'll buy the glue tomorrow after the craft show, yeah!!

One After the Other

It's that time of year, - - 2 huge events down, 8 more to go before Dec 15!!! Not 8, ok it's really 6!! A Craft Show, two Christmas lunches that turn into all day things, one overnight to Charleston for a Christmas party, oh yeah, Thanksgiving!! UG and I'm on Jenny Craig!!
By the way - I lost 4 lbs on my first week, I was so excited!! Never thought I'd go backwards, I've always gone forward!!
I'm off to work on items for Craft Show on Saturday, but also taking the cat to the vet mid day today!! Poor Starbucks, he's sound asleep, not even aware that there will be several needles in horrible places today!

Rebirthing Again

I started Jenny Craig today. I have unmentionable amounts of weight to lose and hopefully, not having to plan the meals will be the catalyst that lets this process work. I have even gained 3 lbs in the last 3 weeks. Just horrible. I refuse to be any larger! I walk, I workout, now maybe better suited foods all planned out and some more walking, (I'm going to walk to NYC next time I go!) These hormones better get in shape and stay that way very soon!!!

I purchased a little decoration at Bed Bath & Beyond yesterday and did the usual walk by the Kate Spade section and waved to my polka dotted accent plates only to see my parents ordering me some for Christmas!!! What a hoot!! So then I gave them their Birthday Presents (1/5 &1/6) they are going to hear Joe Montana speak at our local hospital fundraiser tonight. He was our fav player for our fav team the whole time growing up practically in CA. Our lives revolved around Joe and the 49er schedule at times. Of course I did have a football fetish rather early on, I had the biggest crush on Joe Namath. Even had a jersey and the whole bit. There's something about a man's man!!
OOPs, my Man's Man is just waking up, the snoring has slowed, the dog is walking on his bladder!! Got to go!

The Kid is 11!!

Today is Austin's 11th Birthday!! He's a Lego/Hotwheel/Nintendo DS freak!! A very cute and usually well behaved boy!! Very Smart!!

Just Birthed

For some reason my blog wouldn't let me sign on anymore. It has to do with my husband's never ending search for separation on our two computers. I was signing onto blogger with his info on my laptop, no longer possible. So....take notice of my blog name (actually just the same except for and it is now "n". So to all my fans reset your labels for me!!

Went to Chihuly exhibit yesterday at our local museum. We actually have a display of about 35 pieces, all seaforms. Real nice, but they didn't let you take pictures, and this exhibit was obviously so not crowded as compared to the DeYoung last month!!! Would have been nice to have some great pictures!!!

Peeps, you need to know the conditions I'm typing in right now. First of all, I'm in my bed with a jacket on, it's very cold, there is fog on the water (yeah, I know my music) and it's moving around real creepy like, the dog (who is in major need of a bath) is sleepy with one eye closed and the other is watching me, he's adding a little smell to the mix, the cat is snoring on the end of the bed, and husband is LOUDLY snoring right next to me. This is us usually every Saturday morning, I wake up early, I go to bed early, so I spend time with the family sleeping and me surfing.

On a very sad note, a little boy was killed last night trick or treating in Sumter, that's the next county over and the first town I really lived in when I moved to SC in the 80's. So sad!! What is wrong with people!!!???
